Supervetted Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2016

By using our Site or Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service Agreement available at and you consent to the collection, use, transmission and sharing of information as described herein. Unless specifically defined, terms used throughout this Privacy Policy have the same definitions as those given in our Terms of Service Agreement.

  1. Information we collect

Information collected about Users:
Like other Site operators, Supervetted collects information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available through the use of commonly-used information-gathering tools such as cookies. This non-personally identifying information (“Non-Personal Information”) includes browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each web request. We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Our purpose in collecting Non-Personal Information is to improve our Users’ experience on the Site and to serve more relevant ads or promotional offers on our Site or third parties’ sites based upon that information.

Registering an account:
You may visit our Site without creating an account, but you will not have full access to our Service. To create an account, Users must either provide Supervetted with personal contact information, such as name and email address or sign in via a third party authentication service.

Information collected about Users:
Either form of account creation may create any information about a User which could, alone or together with other personally-identifying information, personally identify him or her (“Personal Information”). Supervetted collects Personal Information only with your consent which you express by using our Site or Service after reviewing this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service Agreement. Personal Information may include information you provide to us directly, such as your email address, or information we collect through your use of our Site or Service, such as your preferences or your search terms. Personal Information may include, without limitation, your name, your email address, your billing address, your credit card or banking information, your attorney registration information (if applicable), your profession, your business or industry, your photograph, and other personal information you provide to us through your use of the Site or Service.

We only gather the information you give us access to, and we only use it as described below. We only collect the minimum amount of personal information necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us or to serve you more relevant ads or promotional offers.

Personal Information does not include aggregated, non-personally identifying information. You may refuse to supply personally-identifying information; however, that refusal may prevent you from using our Site and Service.

No information about children:
Supervetted does not knowingly collect information from, or direct any of our content specifically to, children or teenagers under the age of 18. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a User of our Service is under the age of 18, we will promptly delete any personal information in that User’s account.

Location-based data:
Supervetted also makes use of location-based data for our Site. We will ask you to enter your general location and will use this information to provide Service to you or to serve you more relevant ads or promotional offers. If you choose not to allow Supervetted to access your location, some or all functionality may not be available to you.

Legal service matching requests and confidentiality:
In order to access the Service and receive attorney matches, you may post certain information pertaining to your attorney search via an online form or by speaking with a Supervetted employee (“Legal Matching Information”). This information may include, among other things, a description of the your business and legal needs. This information will be viewed by Network Attorneys of our choosing and by Supervetted employees, contractors, and consultants to match you with the types of attorneys you request, to ensure quality, and to provide technical support. Legal matching information is not confidential.  You should not share sensitive or confidential information via the Site or Service.

Representation Information:
Should you choose to hire a Network Attorney and subsequently provide Representation Information to us directly or through your Network Attorney, we will collect such information and user it to audit your Network Attorney’s work with the help of our Reviewing Attorneys. It is entirely up to you to decide what Representation Information you are comfortable with providing to us, including factual and legal information about your matter, your communications with your Network Attorney, and your identity. While we take measures to maintain the security of your Representation Information and limit its disclosure as described in this Privacy Policy, you should consult an attorney regarding any possible loss of attorney-client privilege or any other effect of disclosure of Representation Information to us, particularly with respect to communications with your Network Attorney.  Please read this Privacy Policy in its entirety for more information about the retention and sharing of your Representation Information.

  1. How we use the information we collect

To provide the Service:
We use Personal Information to perform and provide the Service you request. For instance, we use Personal Information to allow Users to select the best Network Attorney for their needs; facilitate communication between Users, Network Attorneys, and Reviewing Attorneys; perform invoicing and billing; and to generate online profiles. We use location-based data and Legal Matching Information to provide to you profiles of Network Attorneys relevant to your search. We use Representation Information to audit or review the work product and billing of Network Attorneys and to relate Passing Reviews.

To communicate with Users:
Supervetted may also use Personal Information to communicate with Users. For instance, we may use information you provide to send you information regarding our Service, such as promotions or events; to provide you with technical support; to solicit feedback about our Service; or to notify you if our policies change.

To improve our Service:
Supervetted may use aggregated, non-personally identifying information gathered from our web server to operate, improve, and optimize our Site and Service.

Serving more relevant ads:
We may use Personal or Non-Personal Information to serve you more relevant ads or promotional offers.

  1. How we share the information we collect

To provide the Service to you and other Users:
Supervetted may share your Personal Information and Legal Matching Information to perform services you have requested, including displaying and sharing any such information in order to match you with Network Attorneys.  We may share Representation Information with our Reviewing Attorneys and we will display and share any resulting Passing Reviews of Network Attorney work without restriction, including the nature of the work reviewed.

To our employees, other affiliates, and third party service providers:
Supervetted discloses Personal Information, Legal Matching Information, and Representation Information only to those of our employees, third party contractors or consultants (e.g., our email service providers, payment processors, and Reviewing Attorneys), and affiliated organizations that need to know this information in order to process it on our behalf or to provide or improve our Service. Some of our employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using our Site or Service, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.

In a merger:
Supervetted may share Personal Information, Legal Matching Information and Representation Information if we are involved in a merger, sale, or acquisition. If any such change of ownership happens, we will seek to continue to ensure the confidentiality, and we will notify you on our Site before such a transaction. The purchaser will have to honor any promises we have made in this Privacy Policy or in our Terms of Service Agreement.

Advertising; Third-party tracking, re-targeting or analysis:
Supervetted may from time to time share, sell, rent, or trade Personal and/or Non-Personal Information with third parties or permit third-party tracking, re-targeting or data analysis across our Site or Service for their or our promotional purposes (e.g., to serve you more relevant advertisements or promotional offers).  These third parties may collect more information than Supervetted collects.

General information about Users:
Supervetted may disclose aggregated Non-Personal Information about how our Users, collectively, use our Site and Service, so that we may share general information, such as statistics.

When legally necessary:
Supervetted discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Supervetted, third parties, or the public at large.

When permitted, we will make a reasonable effort to notify Users of disclosure required by a subpoena, court order, or governmental request.

With your consent:
We may share information in additional ways with your consent.

4. Our use of cookies and other technologies

Cookies, generally:
We use cookies to make interactions with our Site easy and meaningful and to serve you more relevant advertisements or promotional offers. A cookie is a small piece of text that our web server stores on your computer or mobile device, which we can then retrieve as needed. Cookies do not necessarily identify you if you are merely visiting the Site; however, a cookie may store a unique identifier for each logged in User.

Temporary cookies:
We use temporary, or “session-based,” cookies, which are removed when you close your web browser or reboot your computer or device. We use session-based cookies to provide Service to you while you navigate our Site, remember that you are logged in during your visit, and increase Site security.

Persistent cookies:
We use permanent, or “persistent,” cookies, which remain stored on your computer or device until deleted, or until they reach a specified date of expiration. We use persistent cookies to enable us to remember you each time you visit our Site; keep track of your preferences in relation to your use of our Site; allow you to log in without re-entering your password every time you visit; and serve you more relevant advertisements or promotional offers.

Web beacons and other technologies:
We may use standard Internet technology, such as web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our Site. We also may include web beacons in advertisements or email messages to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer and to deliver targeted advertisements and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, content, programming or other activities.

Google Analytics:
We use Google Analytics to help improve our Site and Service. Google Analytics uses both session-based and permanent cookies to collect information about how our Site performs and how our Users use the Site and Service. The Google Analytics tool helps us evaluate and monitor Users’ use of our Site, compile statistical reports on activity on the Service, and improve our content. Google Analytics may collect more information than Supervetted collects. Google Analytics stores the information these cookies generate.

  1. Gathering and protecting the information we collect

Industry standards in data security:
We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect Personal Information, Legal Matching Information, and Representation Information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction; maintain data accuracy; and help ensure the appropriate use of all information we collect. No method of transmission, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

No responsibility for third party service providers’ security:
In addition, while we take measures reasonably necessary to ensure that our third party service providers, such as our payment processing and data tracking, re-targeting or data analysis services, keep your information secure, these organizations’ practices are ultimately beyond our control. By using our Site or Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

International data transfer:
Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate.

  1. Your access to and control of the information we collect

Access to User Information:
As a registered User, you may access, update, alter, or delete your basic User profile information by editing your user profile or contacting us at

Data retention:
We will retain Personal Information and Legal Matching Information for as long as needed to provide you Service. To the extent practically possible and legally permitted, we delete Representation Information promptly after any necessary reviews are completed and we require our Reviewing Attorneys to do the same.

Deletion of User Information:
If you wish to cancel your account and delete your Personal Information, Legal Matching Information, or Representation Information, please contact us at We will retain and use you information, as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, but barring legal requirements, we will seek to delete your full profile within 30 days.

Control of communications from us:
Supervetted may occasionally send Users an email to tell you about new features, solicit feedback, notify you of important changes, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Supervetted and our products. You may manage your receipt of these communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of Supervetted’s emails or manage your notifications options in the “Settings” panel of your profile. Additionally, you may send a request specifying your communications preferences to Please note that if you do opt out of promotional mailings, we may still send you important administrative emails, such as notices that affect your rights.

  1. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Supervetted may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in our sole discretion. We will provide notification to Users of material changes to this Privacy Policy (i) by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, which will take effect immediately upon our sending of this email, and/or (ii) through our Site by posting a notice on our home page, which will take effect no sooner than 30 days from the date of the posting. Non-material changes to this Privacy Policy will take effect immediately. Your continued use of the Site or Service after the effective date of a revised version of this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of its terms.
